Jiusep (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates a private event discovery service that aggregates publicly available event listings from third-party providers. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of our website and services.
By accessing or using this service, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.
IP address. Your IP address is collected and stored server-side on every page visit, and is retained indefinitely. When you are signed in it is stored alongside your account identifier on the same record, so it is linked to your account. Your IP address also indicates your approximate location — the city or region your connection is in — and nothing more precise.
Usage events. We log interaction events alongside your IP address, a timestamp, the browser or app and operating system you are using, a session identifier, how you first arrived at Jiusep (any campaign parameters in the link you followed, or the site that referred you) and — if you are signed in — your account identifier. The main ones are:
Location data. When you choose “Near me” on the map, your browser or device asks your permission to share your location, and uses it to center the map on you. Those coordinates are never stored on our servers and never leave your device, except as part of the request that fetches nearby events, which does not retain them. What we do record with a page view is the city you are viewing — one of the metropolitan areas Jiusep covers — never your coordinates. If you are outside every area we cover, no location is recorded at all. You can use the app without ever granting location access by choosing a city from the list instead.
Account data. On this website, signing in is optional — you can browse and use the map without an account. The Jiusep iOS app requires an account, because its features (saved events, follows, shared plans and notifications) are tied to one. If you sign in, we create an account and store your email address and your name. If you sign in with a social provider such as Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information that provider shares — your name, and an email address (Apple lets you hide your real address and share a relay address instead). You can edit or clear your name at any time on your Account page. We do not collect or store passwords for social sign-in, and we never receive payment information.
Your name is visible to others on shared plans. When you RSVP to an event in a plan — “going,” “maybe” or “out” — your name is shown in full next to that answer to everyone who can see the plan: the plan's members, and, if the owner has created a share link, anyone holding that link. Only people who have RSVP'd appear; being a member of a plan does not by itself put your name in front of anyone. Thumbs-up and thumbs-down votes are counted anonymously — a plan shows the totals, never who voted which way. If you would rather not be named on an RSVP, clear the name field on your Account page and your RSVPs show as “Someone” instead. No other account data — your email address, your saved events, your follows, or your preferences — is shown to other users.
Content you save. When signed in, we store the events you save; the artists, teams, venues, and genres you follow; the filter “views” (saved searches) and the preferences you set — your home city, the event categories and sub-categories you are interested in, any neighborhoods you pick, and your name; and the plans you create — including their name, description, the events in them, the people you share or join them with, and the votes and RSVPs members add, each stored against the member who made it so it can be shown with their name. Plans you mark as shareable are viewable by anyone who has the link.
Notifications. If you allow notifications in the Jiusep iOS app, we store the notification token Apple issues for that device, linked to your account, so we can send you the alerts you asked for. Turning notifications off for Jiusep in iOS Settings stops them; deleting your account deletes the token.
Linking prior activity. When you first sign in, we associate the anonymous usage identifier described in Section 3 with your account so that your account reflects activity from before you signed in.
Legal basis for processing. We process usage and security data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the service is used and keeping it secure and reliable. We process account data to provide the account features you ask for (for example, on the basis of performing our agreement with you and/or your consent). We do not use any of this data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
We use browser local storage to remember things that make the service usable between visits: your selected date range; the last map view you were looking at (including its coordinates, which stay on your device and are never sent to us); the city and categories you chose during setup; your recent searches and the events you have recently opened; how you first arrived; and an anonymous usage identifier. All of it is first-party, stays in your own browser or app, and can be cleared by clearing your site data or deleting the app.
We do not use advertising pixels, cross-site ad tracking, or any third-party advertising service. This website uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate traffic measurement service provided by our host, which records page requests without profiling individual visitors. It is deliberately not included in the Jiusep iOS app, which contains no third-party analytics at all.
If you sign in, we set strictly necessary, secure authentication cookies to keep you logged in and to protect your session. These are required for the account features to work and are not used for tracking or advertising.
Event listings displayed on this site are sourced from third parties: the Ticketmaster and JamBase event feeds, and the public websites of venues, cities and tourism boards. When you click a ticket link, you will be directed to a third-party website subject to its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
Usage and account data described in Section 2 is stored in Supabase, a third-party database and authentication infrastructure provider, and the site is hosted on Vercel. If you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider processes your sign-in and shares basic profile information with us. Notifications sent to the iOS app are delivered by Apple's push service. Maps are rendered with Google Maps, so whenever a map loads Google receives your IP address and the area being displayed, subject to Google's own privacy policy — on the website and in the app alike. Aggregate traffic measurement on this website is provided by Vercel Analytics (see Section 3). Each of these providers acts as a sub-processor, may host data on servers outside your country of residence, and is subject to its own privacy and security policies.
We do not sell, trade, or rent any personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
IP addresses and usage event data are retained indefinitely. Account data and the content you save are retained until you delete them or delete your account, after which they are removed from our live systems (deleting your account cascades to your saved events, follows, presets, plans, and the notification token for any device you allowed notifications on). Event listing data is refreshed regularly and historical records may be purged periodically.
Usage records are not part of that deletion. They are kept separately from your account and are not removed when you delete it — see Section 7 for how to request their deletion.
If you have an account, you can exercise your rights directly: visit your Account page to review and edit your preferences, download a copy of your account data (“Download my data”), or permanently delete your account and all associated content.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of analytics data. Deleting your account does not delete it. Usage records are stored separately from your account and are identified by the anonymous usage identifier for your browser or device together with your IP address, so a request about them has to be made by email, as below. If you want both, ask us to delete your analytics data before deleting your account: account deletion also removes the link that lets us tell which usage records were yours, which makes them harder to find afterwards, not easier. For activity from while you were signed out, include the IP address you wish to action.

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
